How does the PIR motion detector work?
A motion detector is the main argument of your security system, because it is the main device that detects when an intruder is around your house or premises, when they shouldn’t be there. Thus, the motion sensor makes it possible to identify movements in a certain area.
A PIR sensor is a device that detects heat (infrared) that is naturally emitted by people and animals. When a person is in the field of view of the sensor, the detector sees a sudden change in the energy released and the sensor triggers. When a sensor is activated, a signal is sent to your security system’s control panel, which connects to your monitoring center. Thanks to this, you are immediately alerted to the presence of an existing threat. You also have the option of recording suspicious activity via a security camera when one of the windows in your room is broken or when someone breaks into your unoccupied room.
What is the PIR infrared detector used for?
The wireless PIR detector can be used to remove visual doubts. The camera incorporates an Agility ™ 3 alarm system. At the time of the intrusion, the motion detector is able to transmit a set of images to the alarm center. The infrared camera then transmits the alert message via the network or to a monitoring station. The customer can then access the images through his computer or smartphone. This camera is ideal for indoor use thanks to its discreet shape and its large capacity allows it to capture a CCTV image even at night.
Where to install the wireless PIR detector?
In protected areas, PIR motion detectors have two main objectives: occupancy detection and intrusion detection.
The occupancy sensor makes it possible to detect in a wide field the presence of people entering and leaving in a zone defined by the user. Perfect for use in your villa or in a second home.
As for the intrusion detector, they make it possible to detect an intruder in a larger area than the occupancy detector. In addition, these sensors are configured to ignore minor movements (pets, birds …) and non-moving objects. Such a device makes it possible to avoid the untimely triggering of the alarm by detection of movement or of a heat zone.
